BGCA Lesson Three: Voting and Representation
Lesson Plan
Students will draw connections between the process of choosing an elected official to vote for in Cast Your Vote and the work that elected officials do on behalf of their constituents in Represent Me.
In Cast Your Vote, players make informed voting decisions by ranking candidates’ answers in a debate. In Represent Me, players act as a legislator and decide what legislation to support based on how it will affect their constituents. By comparing these two games, players will understand how citizens have an impact on the electoral process and on the choices of their elected representatives.
